Quick recap

Last week → This week

WEEK 4

You built two evidence-based personas and a value proposition for each.

WEEK 5

Now you find teammates who believe in the same idea — and agree on how you'll work together.

Key idea

Roles are based on strengths, not seniority

ASSIGN BY SKILL

CEO (vision/coordination), CFO (numbers), CMO (customer/marketing), CTO (product/build) — pick based on what someone is actually good at.

AVOID

Assigning roles just by who talks the loudest, or who's "in charge" socially.

Co-founder Agreement

What to actually put in it

Don't write vague promises — write what happens in specific situations.

  1. 01 Equity/role split — who does what, and how is credit divided?
  2. 02 Decision-making — how do you resolve disagreements?
  3. 03 Meeting cadence — how often, and what happens if someone misses 3 meetings?
  4. 04 Conflict resolution — what's the process if the team wants to pivot the idea?
Hour 2 · Activity

Idea Marketplace

Goal: pitch your idea in 60 seconds, recruit a team of 4-5, and draft your Co-founder Agreement.

  1. 01 Prepare a 60-second pitch: the problem, your idea, why you're excited about it.
  2. 02 Circulate the room — pitch to others, and listen to their pitches.
  3. 03 Commit to a team once you find people who share your excitement.
  4. 04 As a team, discuss roles based on strengths.
  5. 05 Draft your Co-founder Agreement using today's four questions.
Activity timer

Work time

40:00

Tip: signal a 5-minute warning before teams need to lock in.

Debrief · Ask the whole class

Talk about it

1. What made you choose your final team over other ideas you heard?

2. How did you assign roles? What happens if two people wanted the same role?

3. What's one clause in your Co-founder Agreement you think you'll actually need later?

Quick learning check

Before we go — 3 short questions
